Often I leave the capture buffer ON while on CompuServe or other
telecommunications services. And generally, I reply to messages ON LINE.
The problem with this is, any of my BACKSPACE edits become part of the
capture buffer. If you TYPE the capture buffer to the screen, you won't
notice it. DOS handles the backspace characters for you. For example, TYPE
BAKTEST.TXT. Load it up into a text editor, such as QEdit, and you'll see
those little boxes with the hole in the middle - the PC graphic character
representation of the backspace character.
To test this program try: BAKZAP BAKTEST.TXT
Now load BAKTEST.TXT into your editor again, and you will see that BAKZAP
has nuked all those annoying backspaces for you. Now you can print your
capture buffer, or edit it for your newsletter without having to muck about
with all those annoying control-H characters.
Compiled with Turbo C 2.0. Source code is included. Hack it to your
heart's content, share the code with others. Please leave (c) Ratware
Softworks, '88 somewhere in the source code - if you make BAKZAP a part of
your programs. Thank you for your cooperation.
